Museum-quality art works from more than 240 visual artists from across the nation are the big lure to the prestigious Cottonwood Art Festival, but a mix in live music, fresh food, a children’s ArtStop creative area, homegrown craft beer, cocktails and wine will also be available to enjoy while taking in the sights or listening to the live music.
At the new craft beer garden in Lakeside Courtyard, you will find a lineup of local brews: choose from Deep Ellum Blonde, Revolver Blood and Honey, Lakewood Lager, Grapevine’s Sir Williams, and other great local craft beer. Head here, too, for the ever-popular Mimosa Mornings – when handcrafted mimosas are paired with breakfast tacos. Also served for your enjoyment throughout the day are freshly made margaritas and glasses of wine.
There are plenty of culinary offerings with which to pair beverages. Revel in scallops and shrimp from Big Shucks Oyster Bar. Nod to the Lone Star State with barbeque from award-winning Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse or wild game (smoked buffalo brat, anyone?) from The Texas Pitstops.
Festival fare can be found at Conway’s Corndogs, which will serve up fresh-squeezed lemonade, funnel cakes, smoothies and, you guessed it, corndogs. Shaved ice from Kona Ice, coffee creations from Wound Up! Café, Marble Slab Creamery ice cream and warm mozzarella and cinnamon pretzels from Texas Twist are on the menu, too.
“There’s truly something for everyone – and every family member – at the festival,” said Serri Ayers, director of the Cottonwood Art Festival. “Whether you just want to enjoy the cooler temperatures, explore our culinary offerings, or browse art including paintings, jewelry and ceramics, it promises to be a weekend of entertainment.”
