Cottonwood Art Festival proudly announces its Emerging Artists for 2010! Now in its fourth year, the program is an innovative and resourceful tool that mentors students in the art world. Students are encouraged to express themselves artistically and learn the process of exhibiting. The uniqueness of Cottonwood Art Festival’s Emerging Artists program is that it is only available to high school and college art students. Interested students are required to develop an art concept, an artist statement and produce images of their work. This package was submitted to their teacher for review and then sent in for jury to Cottonwood Art Festival.

Opportunity Bank in Richardson sponsors this outreach program. Because of their kind generosity we are able to offer the students an opportunity to exhibit not only at the Eisemann Center but also at Cottonwood Art Festival. A reception is given to honor those students and their talents. During this reception ribbons are awarded along with scholarship money.

This spring, selected Emerging Artists are displaying their works in the Forrest & Virginia Green Mezzanine-Gallery at the Eisemann Center through the month of April. If you miss their work at the Eisemman Center you will be able to view or even buy their work at Cottonwood Art Festival, May 1-2, at Cottonwood Park in Richardson.
