VOLUNTEERS

Cottonwood's interactive children's area, ArtStop, needs volunteers.   We need your help staffing activities, organizing materials and helping our pint-size Picasso’s create their masterpieces.  Be prepared to laugh and have fun, as ArtStop is a memorable experience for kids of all ages.

For each Cottonwood Art Festival, we rely on nearly 200 volunteers to help run six interactive stations.
ArtStop activities include:

  • Crazy Cool Caps – Kids can show off their fun personalities by creating their own colorful, over-the-top hat. Children can decorate their hat with ribbons, glitter, feathers, pompoms, foam shapes and more.

  • Throwin’ Mud – It’s okay to play in the mud at this activity station guided by ArtStop’s own master potters as children learn to throw a pot or form a vase on an electric potter's wheel.

  • Canvas Classics – Pint-size Picasso’s can paint on a real canvas using individual easels and paint palettes with guidance from young instructors.

  • Wee Weavers – A popular activity from last fall inspired by the trend in yarn art. With fallen twigs gathered from the park, kids build a base to create their own weaving using colorful yarns and strings. A feather or a few beads add some personality.
We'll also have a colossal group weaving made of Birch tree branches that anyone can add to.

  • Tile Treasures – Mosaics made from trinkets and tissue are as unique and creative as the children who make them and the tiles make wonderful keepsakes.

  • Torn Tissue Stained Glass – A NEW activity for ArtStop that will let kids create a colorful, transparent framed piece of art using tissue, wax paper and their own imagination.

  • Rollin’ and Recyclin’ – The Green Team is back with more ways kids and families can recycle and be creative with the stuff typically thrown in the trash.Crazy Cool Caps - Kids can show off their fun personalities by creating their own colorful, over-the-top hat. Children can decorate their hat with ribbons, glitter, feathers, pompoms, foam shapes and more.

At Cottonwood Art Festival, our volunteers play a huge part in our success!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. At this time we have all the volunteers we need. Please check back in November if you are interested in volunteering for Santa's Village.
